Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were German scientists. They became famous for collecting and publishing fairy tales. Jacob was born in 1785 and Wilhelm in 1786. They grew up in a large family and were very close to each other. With their work, the Brothers Grimm preserved German culture and made it accessible. They saw fairy tales not only as entertainment, but also as a means of conveying moral values and providing insights into everyday life and people's fears. In addition to fairy tales, the brothers also made significant contributions to linguistics. Jacob died in1863 and Wilhelm in 1859. The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are known worldwide and are still read and loved today.
